...the lucky 3...

It is time to draw are 3 lucky winners for the Halloween giveaways...yeah!!!

I rounded up a few of the usual suspects...but wait, they don't seem very menacing...

ahhh...that's better...now let's set the mood...

...What a host of gloomy recollections will ever and anon be awakened in the mind of genius and imaginative contemplation, especially of a genius doomed to the everlasting and eternal, and continual, and, as one might say, the -continued -yes, the continued and continuous, bitter, harassing, disturbing, and, if I may be allowed the expression, the very disturbing influence of the serene, and godlike, and heavenly, and exalted, and elevated, and purifying effect of what may be rightly termed the most enviable, the most truly enviable -nay! the most benignly beautiful, the most deliciously ethereal, and, as it were, the most pretty (if I may use so bold an expression) thing (pardon me, gentle reader!) in the world -but I am always led away by my feelings. In such a mind, I repeat, what a host of recollections are stirred up by a trifle!... Excerpt from A Predicament ~Edgar Allan Poe (to continue reading go here).
...enough stalling...head roll please (get it, head roll instead of drum roll)...

The owl earrings go to Jaime from A Forest Frolic...thanx for the twitter follow, by the way, ❤❤❤love your stuff ❤❤❤

my little goblin reaches in for lucky #2...

...and the Batty necklace goes to Kristal @ Bella Grace!!!

reaching in for lucky #3...

the cat ornament goes to PIXIE
I'm glad I got your name off the tag before it caught on fire!!!

So there are the lucky 3...thanx ladies...I hope you like your goodies!!!

A Fanciful Twist Halloween party...

~~~I've had lots of comments on the skeleton riding the bicycle, the cemetery, the spiderwebs and this creepy critter living in the webs.
They are pictures from a Halloween Train ride in Nevada City, CA. We have family in Northern California and went there a few years back. It is a fun ride, if your in the area, check it out...It's spooktacular~~~
***all other pics are from our house, or past Halloweens***
Greetings fellow trickters...
I am a bit late to the party, blame the evil Strept O. Coccus
He does look quite menacing huh?!? I will not surrender, I have a party to attend {cough cough}
A windy tale
the west winds blow,
in this heat of hell
no one would know,
the wicked hour
be upon us soon
in 13 risings, 13 moons
we will be witches
and pirates
and sinners
and saints,
too bad 'tis only for one day!
~The tragedy of Macbeth~
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.
Round about the cauldron go;
In the poison'd entrails throw.
Toad, that under cold stone
Days and nights has thirty-one
Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' the charmed pot.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and owlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Scale of dragon, tooth of wolf,
Witches' mummy, maw and gulf
Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark,
Root of hemlock digg'd i' the dark,
Liver of blaspheming Jew,
Gall of goat, and slips of yew
Silver'd in the moon's eclipse,
Nose of Turk and Tartar's lips,
Finger of birth-strangled babe
Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,
Make the gruel thick and slab:
Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
For the ingredients of our cauldron.
Pomegranate petals, pink tomatoes & a pretty new blog!
I've been a busy girl setting up my "new & improved" blog, twitter & tumblr. I learned a lot, and got frustrated a little (ok...a LOT), but I think the hard work was well worth it! I couldn't have done it without Shabby blogs, they make so many cute templates it was hard choosing. Go check them out if you've yearned for a new look, they won't disappoint. What do you think?
Now...off to dreamland...zzzzz
Freedom...fireworks...food...freinds...ahhh the 4th of July is awesome!
I watched the flag
Pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine
Saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.
I looked at
Him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square
And eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men
Like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign
Soil
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes
Shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers'
Graves?
No, freedom isn't free
I heard the sound of Taps
One night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler
Play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant 'Amen,'
When a flag had draped a
Coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the
Children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and
Husbands
With interrupted lives.
I
Thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in
Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.
Enjoy Your Freedom
& God Bless Our Troops
We're taking a trip back in time...back to the Ice Age!
My Mother's Day Makeover
I am so blessed with a beautiful daughter that is so sweet. She gave me a makeover, straightened/ styled my hair and took me and her lil sister Eve for a pedicure.
At one point both my daughters were putting make-up on me. I have to admit it was a bit more make-up than I usually wear but I felt B-E-A-utiful!
Here we are all dolled up ready to go out to dinner with the boys...TGIFridays was yummy! I had a great day with my family and feel very blessed to be their mother. Even if I'm dreading summer and bored, fighting kids!
Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers. I really do believe they have helped me and given me strength in these trying times. I have a small growth on the wall of my atrium and a PFO in my heart (here is a link for more info). I am getting a second opinion, and seeing what my options are. Thankfully, it is not as detrimental as initially believed to be. I am making several changes and trying to get back to "Rowan Willow" (my muse), how I miss her! I will try and post more often and I am working on my previously owed swaps and some new pieces...stay tuned...I love all my bloggy buddies!
Calling ALL good thoughts and prayers...
I have recently found out I have a density on the back of my heart, possibly a myxoma (tumor). I am having surgery next Thursday to confirm or deny this. I need all the good thoughts and prayers you can offer. I am at my wits end with ALL my health problems. I am continuing to stay positive and have faith that I will be OK. I have to be, I have 4 kids , 3 who really need me!
I am not taking on any new commitments at this time. I still owe several swaps and I feel terrible about that. I would love to join the One World One Heart event. I made so many neat friends last year but I just don't have it in me this year. I hope to be returning to the creative community soon...How I miss it. I am feeling so depressed and overwhelmed right now, I hope you all understand. Thanks for listening and really, I am going to KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON!!!
